I'm Rebecca, and you can call me Rebecca or Becky or Bex, but please never BeccaI have often been described as someone who could talk to anyone. Which is a good thing, considering I talk to people for a living.
I have always been passionate about stories and people, and I found a perfect balance of both in UX research. I love the challenge of bringing a user's voice to life for stakeholders through various methods of storytelling–most of which aren't Powerpoint–and identifying the key insights to drive a product, service or experience forward. Topics, outside of work, that I can talk all day about include books, cocktails and all things beauty. I have major wanderlust and am grateful the nature of my work allows me to be remote (most of the time!) so I can work and explore other parts of the world without pause.

Emma MacDonald, Senior Product Manager at SimpliSafe
Rebecca’s energy would be an incredible asset to any team. We have all been in a 3pm meeting room full of half-asleep zombies. Rebecca has an amazing talent of breathing life back into a space, getting people to liven up and laugh at themselves again. She is a joy to have as a coworker, but her research expertise is what would truly make any team lucky to have her. As a somewhat introverted PM, Rebecca was incredibly helpful in easing my fears about conducting in-person observational research. Her comfort and gracefulness with conducting research eliminates any awkwardness, making participants feel taken care of and at ease, which in turn produces the best results. If you have the chance to work with Rebecca, I highly recommend taking it! |
Victor van den Bergh, Senior Design Researcher at SimpliSafe
I had the privilege of working on the same Design Research Team at SimpliSafe as Rebecca for nearly three years. During that time, I was consistently impressed by Rebecca's strong research skills as well as her passion for user-centered design. She led numerous large-scale research initiatives focused on a wide range of topics, from camera hardware to app and service design, and consistently delivered useful insights and recommendations in a manner that was easy to digest for all stakeholder audiences, from engineers to product managers and company executives. On top of that, she was constantly improving how our Design Research team works by suggesting and implementing best research practices and even training other teams on research methods. Finally, she was a great teammate and a positive, upbeat personality in every meeting. I am happy to recommend Rebecca for any design/user research position! |
Lisa Portelli, Strategic Program Leader (worked with at Foundation Medicine)
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bex for about a year. During that time, I have been impressed by Bex’s performance and ability to produce rich and valuable insights. Bex’s insatiable curiosity drives her to explore deeply into her research topic(s). Bex then presents her findings succinctly and at the appropriate level based on the audience. In addition to being an excellent contributor, Bex is a natural, charismatic leader whose colleagues quickly gravitate towards her authentic, creative, and outgoing demeanor. If you are looking for a Design Researcher who is professional, yet dynamic, and excited to take on new challenges and opportunities, look no further - Bex embodies qualities you’re looking for. |
Teodora Kaltcheva, Senior Product Owner at Foundation Medicine
Rebecca is a ridiculously talented researcher with a relentless work ethic. She is extremely focused on her work and always delivers above and beyond what is required of her. From conducting in-person user testing to developing a testing plan and providing analysis of results, you can trust that Rebecca is the best person for the task at hand. She is constantly trying to figure out ways to improve processes and further develop her own skill set. Additionally, Rebecca is sure to be one of your favorite team members! She's kind, thoughtful and knows how to make everyone around her feel welcome. |
Kevin Hannon, Senior UX/UI Designer (worked with at CVS Health)
I worked with Rebecca at CVS UX Labs on a Telehealth product and she was absolutely great to work with! She is unbelievably sharp and detail-oriented. I was always in awe of her ability to foresee the many implications of creating or altering features and sub-features in real-time as we worked through prototypes and the effect that they would have on the product. She was very professional in both her approach and execution of UX testing, as well as delivering the results which were always on-point and insightful. Rebecca is one of those all-star people I would poach if I had my own company. Do not hesitate to hire her! |
Missy Roode, Associate Director UX Strategy (worked with at CVS Health)
I have had the privilege and pleasure of working with Rebecca twice and have found her to be one of the most skilled UX professionals I know. With in-depth knowledge of qualitative research processes and best practices, Rebecca always guides the design team to the most successful user experience possible. In particular, she's an expert at explaining what reasonable insights may be drawn from a study versus what might be a product of bias. Her friendly but factual input keeps the team on track when the temptation to hastily pivot arises! I highly recommend Rebecca for any product design team, and hope I get a chance to work with her a third time in the future, too! |
